China-based electric car maker BYD has received over 1000 bookings for its new electric sedan launched in India. BYD launched the Seal electric sedan in India last March. The company had also started bookings for the sedan in the last week of February itself. Currently, the booking for the sedan has crossed 1000.

The premium features and design is what attracts car buyers towards this Chinese electric sedan. BYD has launched the SEAL electric sedan in India in three variants: Dynamic, Premium and Performance. The top-end performance variant gets a 15.6-inch touchscreen infotainment system, digital driver’s display, ventilated and heated powered front seats and dual-zone climate control.

Also, secondary ADAS features, 360-degree camera and wireless smartphone connectivity are also provided for safety. The Sealed sedan gets a 61.44kWh battery pack in the Dynamic variant and an 82.56kWh battery pack in the Premium and Performance variants. This BYD SEAL sedan has an ARAI certified range of 650km.
BYD SEAL: Electric motor
The Dynamic variant uses an electric motor that produces 201hp and the Premium variant uses an electric motor that produces 308hp. The top-end Performance variant gets a dual-electric motor setup that churns out a total of 523hp.
BYD Seal: Price
The BYD Seal electric sedan is priced between Rs 41 lakh and Rs 53 lakh in India. Also, it is one of the most expensive electric cars sold in India. BYD is offering home charger and installation service, portable charging box, mobile power supply unit and roadside assistance for six years to those who book the electric sedan before April 1.
BYD Seal: Warranty
BYD offers a warranty of 8 years or 1.6 lakh km on the battery and 8 years or 1.5 lakh km on the electric motor and motor controller on this electric sedan. Notably, the SEAL electric sedan currently has no direct competitors in India.
