The academic year 2024-25 has started in Tamil Nadu. As the schools opened on the 10th, special attention is being paid to the learning of the students. A calendar has also been published by the School Education Department to guide how to function throughout the current academic year. It contains the details of monthly training provided to the teachers.
Special training for English teachers
Accordingly, special training will be given to the teachers who conduct English lessons for the students of class 6 to 8 till the 28th. It is to be noted that it will be offered online. High quality computer labs in government schools can be used for this purpose. District Education Officers have been instructed to provide all necessary facilities for training.
June Program in Government Schools
In this training, students studying in government schools will be trained on how to teach English language in a simple way. Middle, high and high school teachers who teach English to classes 6, 7 and 8 have been requested to participate.
English language learning
At the end of the training, teachers will be able to write, speak, read and understand English in a simple manner. It will also be an opportunity to learn about new strategies. This is expected to improve the language skills of the students.
Innovation training
After the completion of training for English teachers, the newly appointed graduate teachers will be given 10 days refresher training. It is worth noting that this is live training. Next 6 trainings are planned to be given in July.
Further exercises
They include ensuring child safety, child sexual abuse prevention and awareness, improving students’ reading skills, and training physical education teachers. These will be conducted online and in person. Mostly just one day practice. Primary, High, Secondary, Physical Education teachers and Physical Education Directors will participate in these trainings.
