33Yesterday (31) a group of Yellow Marines were found hidden in a dinghy boat in the Uchhamuna Island area of Karpiti.
During a special search operation carried out in the Uchamunna area, Kapiti marines of the North West Naval Command inspected a dinghy engine boat which was suspiciously parked there.
Meanwhile, 749 kg of turmeric packed in 17 fertilizer bags was seized in the said engine boat.
The navy also mentioned that two people have been arrested on suspicion.
The navy said that the two arrested are 23 and 44 years old and belong to Karpiti area.
Also, the two arrested suspects have handed over the seized 749 kg yellow and dinghy engine boat to the Katunayake Customs for further legal action, the navy added.
