A 3-day ban on access to the Thottapeta mountain peak

The forest department has banned tourists from going to the Thottapetta mountain peak for 3 days from today due to the construction of a check post on the road leading to the Utagai Thottapetta mountain peak.

It is a famous tourist destination located in Utagai district of Nilgiris and thousands of tourists visit every day to enjoy the view from Thottapetta peak which is the 2nd highest peak of South India. Tourists especially go to Thottapeta to enjoy the soaring mountain range, green natural resources and dams in the Nilgiris district.

In this situation, due to traffic damage on both sides of the post stack entrance fee check post on the road leading to Thottapetta Hill, the work of changing the post stack and check post was going on for the last 4 months. Similarly, the work of laying underground cable lines for the check post and laying of interlocking stones on the road was going on.
