Revolutionary Chief Minister’s Breakfast Plan
Under this breakfast program of the Chief Minister, 18.54 lakh students studying in classes 1 to 5 in all 31,008 government primary and middle schools in the municipal, municipal, rural and hilly areas have a hot, tasty breakfast to focus on their studies after coming to school today.
Mothers who were worried about their children going to school without having breakfast welcomed this scheme with great joy and the Chief Minister congratulated them. Education department officials said that the number of students attending the school has increased due to this scheme.
Home Search Education Program
Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K.Stalin aims to close the learning gap during the Corona period, a program introduced by no other state in India is the Home Search Education Program. 24 lakh children have been benefited by 1.65 lakh volunteers in this home search education program which has been implemented for three years at a cost of Rs 590.27 crore.
Program to develop reading habit
During the summer holidays, a series of reading programs were conducted through short books containing Tamil and English stories to develop the habit of reading among children, and it was seen that children participated enthusiastically from all over Tamilnadu.
A “Short Film Celebration” was held in March 2023 at Home Search Education Centers to bring out the imagination, creativity and thinking skills of children. Children participated enthusiastically in this celebration as well.
Numeracy and writing
The Numeracy Program was launched by the Chief Minister to ensure that every child studying in classes 1 to 5 attains basic literacy and numeracy skills by 2025. 22.27 lakh students studying from class 1 to 5 in 37,866 government and government-aided schools are benefiting from this scheme.
Enter-Walk-Run-Fly-Program
53 books have been developed and distributed to all government schools with four distinct reading levels of walk, run and fly with colorful pictures to engage children’s interest over books in simple language accessible to children. Next, 50 books are printed and distributed to all government schools. These books are colored with colorful pictures that encourage children to pick up the books with interest when they see them.
Special facility for forest/hill children
Children going to schools in forest and hilly areas have many dangerous difficulties. The Chief Minister has made some special arrangements to remove all those difficulties.
In 2023-24, 27,707 students from primary to high school from 1692 settlements in remote / dense forest / hilly areas were facilitated with traffic guards for safe access to school. As a result, children can come and study in schools without any fear and it has gained great popularity among the people of the region.
Efficient classrooms in elementary schools
The Chief Minister has set up 22,931 smart classrooms at a cost of Rs.435.68 crore for the benefit of the students studying in government primary schools considering that good classroom conditions will increase the learning of children.
Also, the Chief Minister has arranged to get 100 Mbps high speed internet connection through School Management Committees in all government primary, middle, high and higher secondary schools.
Handheld computers for secondary teachers
As a special project of the Chief Minister, 79,723 secondary teachers working in primary schools have been given tablets at a cost of 101 crore 48 lakh rupees to help them adapt to the changing learning and teaching methods.
Special focus for students with alternative skills
Learning teaching aids such as Simplified Student Workbook and Teacher’s Manual have been designed and provided to ensure basic literacy and numeracy skills of differently abled students studying from Class 1 to 5.
An app called “Nalam Naadi” has also been designed to identify differently abled students in government schools through special tutors.
Narrative texts that develop virtues
In order to strengthen virtues among the students in Panchayat Union primary and middle schools, story centers have been established and story books have been created and distributed to the students at a cost of Rs.121.75 lakh in 160 schools.
Appointment of teachers
According to the instructions given by Hon’ble Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Mr.M.K.Stalin who is deeply involved in the education work of the government schools for the poor and poor people and the country should be done without any hindrance, 4,989 intermediate teachers 5,154 graduate teachers 3,876 for post-graduate teachers in total 14,019 teaching posts on a temporary basis through school management committees. Appointments have been made and teaching in the classrooms is going on very smoothly. 76 Middle School Headmasters have been promoted as District Education Officers to motivate teachers.
Anna Leadership Award for Teachers
Giving awards and appreciation makes everyone happy and motivates everyone to do better work. Therefore, the Chief Minister has ordered to award 100 Headmasters who implement all the government schemes in schools with Arinar Anna Leadership Award, Certificate of Appreciation and Shield every year.
Thus the number of children attending government primary schools has increased due to the implementation of various new schemes. That is why Tamil Nadu excels in education in India. It is said to be a new achievement in school education.
