Karun Nair, last played in the Indian Premier League for Rajasthan Royals for Rajasthan Royals, used his second chance on Sunday, scoring 40-gold 89 runs for Delhi capitals, while they scored 206 Mumbai Indians’ target. Delhi finally finished 19th and fell by 12 runs, but not Nair.
After Vijay Hazare was a leading run score with 779 runs in 2024, Nair was selected by Delhi’s capitals at the IPL auction, where he scored a 124 strike rate of 124 strikes. He scored 1870 runs.
After the game, Nair was asked about time away from the IPL.
“Honestly, I had the hope that I played [IPL] Prior to this, I knew what it would be like, it was no different that I was going to face… (not) nothing new. So, in my mind, it is about going there and giving a few balls and getting used to the speed and atmosphere of the game again, ”Nair said about his thinking process in the game against Mumbai, which was his first match to Delhi in 2025.
“So, ‘Give yourself time, play ordinary scenes, then you know, and then improve when needed’. Fortunately, I am happy to have batted well.
“We always knew – some of us were sitting outside and ready at any time. So, mental, I was ready. I was looking for that opportunity openly. When it came. I felt confidently. I felt. I felt, I was ready to play in the IPL.”
