Now there are talks that the Tamil Nadu government is taking steps to transfer Kallar reform schools to the school education department. There was strong opposition to this from the AIADMK side. Edappadi Palaniswami announced that a hunger strike will be held in Madurai on August 23 against this. In this situation, the government has not taken any action to link Kallar reform schools with the school education department, the backward people welfare department explained today.
In a statement issued by the AIADMK in this regard, “a massive hunger strike is scheduled to be held tomorrow demanding the abolition of the DMK government’s order to free the slum rehabilitation hostels from the management of the slum rehabilitation department and to blunt its authority.

In the explanatory note published today on behalf of the DMK government’s Backward Welfare Department, it has been stated that there is no intention to merge the Kallar Reform Schools with the School Education Department.
AIADMK said that it is highly condemnable that Vidya DMK government is trying to portray the DMK government’s machinations as a motive to stand on the side of the people who are afraid of being harmed. It will not be taken”.
He continued, “The people and AIADMK do not believe the empty statements and promises made by the DMK government led by M.K.Stalin who lied that the central government had conducted the coin release ceremony and tried to deal with the state government under the control of the central government after its lie was exposed.
The AIADMK has given due respect to the legitimate feelings of the people and has taken forward this struggle based on the fact that the community organizations and people met Edappadi Palaniswami in person and complained.
Further, “revocation of the decree and to allay the fears of Kallar community organizations and people, only sensible measures will create a permanent solution, not a bare statement that no change will be made in the management system of Kallar reform schools based on any report.
The AIADMK has firmly stated that the struggle of the ADMK will definitely continue until all attempts by the DMK government to stop the Kallar Reformation Schools, which are a historical educational symbol of the Kallar community of Pramala, one of the most backward Seermarapinar communities, will be defeated.
