The Taj Mahal has been a huge symbol of India. But unexpectedly, it has now been revealed that many foreign tourists who came to India in 2021 visited Mamallapuram located in Tamil Nadu more than Taj Mahal.
It has been revealed that a total of 11 crore tourists have visited Tamil Nadu in the year 2021 alone. This is the highest number of tourist arrivals in India.
Tamil Nadu has become India’s number 1 tourist state in 2021. Uttar Pradesh is second and Andhra Pradesh is third. Out of this 5% people are foreigners and remaining 95% are Indians who have come to visit Mamallapuram. It has been revealed that the reason for these high number of tourists is the Tamil Nadu government’s expansion of tourism sector and its plans.
Similarly, Chennai, its surrounding areas, Elagiri hills, Yercaud etc. are promoting new tourist sites with many new advertisements to make them known to foreigners.
