Leader of the Opposition Edappadi Palaniswami has said that the lack of action to stop the ongoing crimes against women in the DMK regime is highly condemnable.
Mr. Atrocities against women have become an ongoing story since the Vidya DMK government led by Stalin took charge. Tamil Nadu, which used to be a safe state for women, has completely deteriorated law and order under Vidya DMK rule to the extent that women are afraid to walk outside.
I was shocked to hear the incident of gang rape of a 17-year-old girl by 9 people in Udumalaipet, Tirupur district. For the past few months, the girl has been sexually assaulted continuously and it has been revealed that she is 4 months pregnant.
In the investigation of the police department, it has been revealed through social media that the gang who committed this heinous act also sexually assaulted another girl in a similar manner.
I have continuously pointed out the law and order disturbances and the criminal activities being carried out by the drug trade in the Vidya DMK regime.
There is also an increase in the number of children and youths who fall into the grip of drugs and engage in criminal activities. Now, the anti-socials have dared to commit such heart-breaking crimes without any fear of the law or the police.
The above event is a sign that this Vidya DMK regime has thrown the Tamil country into chaos. During Amma’s rule, the then leader of the opposition party Mr. Stalin spread and diverted various scandals for his electoral political gain.
On that day Mr. declared himself as the protector of women. In this Vidya DMK regime, where Stalin is the Chief Minister, taking no action to stop the continuous crimes against women is highly condemnable.
When I spoke about the narcotics movement in the Vidya regime, I spoke not for electoral gains, but as a family leader, with the responsibility to protect the future of our children.
I condemn the Vidya DMK government for failing to stop the sexual violence against women and girls, not only as the leader of the opposition but also as a father. He mentioned that he insists that the criminals involved in the Udumalaipet sex case should be given severe punishment.
