Chennai Super Kings coach Stephen Fleming said the team was “in a lot of injury” after the fifth defeat fell, which saw the IPL 2025 points falling with two points at the bottom of the table. Chennai Super Kings did not celebrate all the seasons after winning their IPL starter. CSK captain Ruturaj Kaikwad was rejected since 2025 due to a broken elbow.
As Kaikwad left, CSK owner Mahendra Singh called Dhoni to fall for the team. But Fleming has warned against Dhoni’s captain’s post against unrealistic expectations.
“His [Dhoni’s] Influence is always important, but he is not a master, but he does not get a magic wand, ”Fleming said at a press conference before the IPL 2025 match against Lucknow Super Giants.
Fleming called on the CSK to “work together” with Dhoni.
“It is an opportunity for us to work hard to turn it with MS. Of course in our two cricket career lives, we are in situations where we need more energy. Make sure the energy is placed in the right place.”
Fleming said the team was hurting after scaring Kolkata Knight Riders in the previous match, where the CSK 9 wickets can take 103 runs, which is the lowest total in Chennai. Current champion KKR chased the target in just 10.1 overs with eight wickets.
“We have a lot of injuries that we can return to the motivation, but it’s not about words. It is about players holding the moment, finding the form, finding their groove, and waving any fear,” the CSK coach said.
“We want to look at it in small steps and continue to work in all three aspects and then you are starting to compete,” Fleming added. “Especially disappointing feature is the lack of the last game and it hurts a lot. So there are a lot of inner soul quests, but we have a lot of work around what we have to do, and it is important to publish a performance that we are.”
