The party president M.K.Stalin has announced who will be the DMK candidate for the Vikravandi by-election.
Vikravandi Legislative Assembly Member Pugahendi passed away on April 6 due to ill health. After that the constituency was declared vacant. It was expected that the Vikravandi constituency by-election may be held along with the Lok Sabha elections. Something was delayed. Parliamentary elections for 39 constituencies and Vidhan Sabha elections were held. The DMK alliance won overwhelmingly in all the constituencies.
Following this, the Election Commission has announced that the by-election for Vikravandi constituency will be held on July 10. It has been announced that nominations for this will be received from 14th to 21st June. As the time frame for the election is very short, political parties are debating whether the candidate can be consulted and assigned to an alliance party.
In that way, the DMK leader and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K.Stalin held a serious consultation on the selection of candidates for the Anna Institute. Then in the Vikravandi by-election, Anniyur Siva has been announced as the candidate on behalf of the DMK. Allies have been asked to work hard for his victory.
