Gambhir appointed as the new coach of the Indian cricket team

42-year-old former cricketer Gautam Gambhir has been appointed as the next head coach of the Indian cricket team.

Gambhir has been appointed as the youngest coach in the history of Indian cricket after Rahul Dravid stepped down as coach after the T20 World Cup.

Dravid stepped down as coach after the World Cup, saying he would spend more time with his family, and his fellow opening batsman VVS. Gambhir’s opportunity came after Laxman indicated that he would continue to work at the National Cricket Academy even though there was a strong chance of a coaching position.

According to this, Gambhir’s first assignment as a coach will be the Indian team’s tour to Sri Lanka. The Indian team will come to Sri Lanka later this month to play three ODIs and three T20Is against Sri Lanka.

Gambhir has been selected as the coach after the Indian team advanced to the finals of last year’s World Test Championship and ODI World Cup and won the T20 World Cup held this year.

The position of coach of the Indian cricket team is considered one of the most prestigious and prestigious positions in the world of sports and carries a salary and allowances of over a million dollars a year.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India had earlier announced that the new head coach of the Indian cricket team will be in charge of all three forms of cricket for a period of three-and-a-half years till December 2027.
