The incident took place on Mamallapuram road after the lover fell in the bus and committed suicide.
Yogeswaran was studying final year engineering in a private college near Madurandakam in Chengalpattu. It is said that he was in love with a girl named Sabrina who studied with him. Both of them have a habit of going around the town on a motorcycle during their holidays. As today is a holiday, both of them have gone to Mamallapuram.
Then they left for home and came on a two-wheeler. It is said that Yogeshwaran tried to overtake the Puducherry private bus which was going ahead. Then the bus hit their two-wheeler. The two-wheeler lost control and overturned. The girlfriend who was in the back of the vehicle was seriously injured and died on the spot.
Yogeswaran has been seriously injured in this. Shocked to see his girlfriend dead, Yogeswaran committed suicide by jumping on a vehicle coming towards Puducherry on the opposite side of the road. The body was thrown on the spot and Yogeshwaran also died.
