The airport is closed due to a very dangerous typhoon, so departures are unclear. BCCI is coordinating to ensure the entire team returns home safely,” it said. A hurricane warning has been issued in Barbados and residents and tourists have been advised to stay indoors. Wind gusts of up to 130 mph have been warned in the area.

Beryl, the first hurricane of the 2024 Atlantic season, intensified into a very dangerous Category 4 hurricane with maximum sustained winds of 130 mph yesterday (30) and headed towards the Windward Islands. “Beryl is now the first Type 4 hurricane on record in the Atlantic Ocean and the only Type 4 storm on record in June. The Indian cricket board is currently exploring the possibility of a direct charter flight from Barbados to Delhi, but that too will be possible only when the airport reopens. BCCI Secretary Jay Shah is overseeing the arrangements for the side and is staying with them at the team hotel.

Awaiting Fans:
