DMK-Congress has been in alliance for many years in Tamil Nadu. The DMK alliance won the 2021 assembly elections and formed the government. Many parties, including Vishika, have been demanding for a long time that alliance parties should also be given space in the cabinet.
However, the ministerial position has not been given to the coalition parties yet. In this context, Lok Sabha member Karti Chidambaram’s comments regarding alliance and inclusion in the cabinet at the Congress party consultation meeting held in Pudukottai today have stirred controversy.
Speaking at the meeting, Karthi Chidambaram said, “Tirunelveli District Congress President was murdered. No one has been arrested till date. We, the Congress party, are still silent about it. Now mercenary killings have increased and the fear among the people has increased. Congress must comment on this.
Also, the encounter should be condemned. Don’t think that the encounter is done for law and order, the common talk is that the encounter is done to finish the case. Don’t we have the same rights as the Communist and Communist parties? We have to register our opinion on all matters,” he said.
Subsequently, in the next five years, the face of the BJP is going down, and the Congress party is going to be going up. Karti Chidambaram, who said that the Congress will be in power in 2029, said, “One of the parties in politics should be the opposition. No, it should be the ruling party. But the Congress has been a rendung ketan party. That is why nobody refuses to take us for granted. Therefore, we should express our opinion on public issues,” he said.
Further, “Congress should be included in the Tamil Nadu cabinet after the 2026 assembly elections. Even if the coalition wins, the Congress party has its own influence. He said that since it is an alliance, nothing should be left unanswered.
