Along with the Lok Sabha elections in Andhra Pradesh, the Assembly elections are also going on in full swing.

While Lok Sabha elections have been announced in 7 phases across the country, polling was held for 102 constituencies in 21 states including Tamil Nadu on April 19. In the second phase, on April 26, voting has been completed in 88 constituencies in 13 states including Kerala, Karnataka and Uttar Pradesh.

Similarly, in the third phase, Lok Sabha elections were held in 12 states and Union Territories including Gujarat and Karnataka on 07th. Polling for the 4th phase of the Lok Sabha elections began today at 7 am in 96 constituencies.

In this situation, along with the Lok Sabha elections in Andhra Pradesh, the Legislative Assembly elections are also going on briskly. Elections to all 175 assembly constituencies in Andhra state are being held in a single phase today.

As polling started at 7 am, voters are waiting in long queues to cast their votes. Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy led YSR. There is a fierce competition between the Congress Party and the Telugu Desam Party led by former Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu.

Similarly, the Congress party has entered the field under the leadership of YS Sarmila. Andhra state has a total of 4.14 crore voters. This includes 2.02 crore male, 2.1 crore female and 3,421 third gender voters.
