All car manufacturers are switching from fuel cars to electric cars. Japan’s Suzuki is also preparing for that change little by little. Although Maruti Suzuki is the number one seller of petrol cars in India, the company is yet to make a foothold in selling electric cars. Maruti Suzuki plans to launch the eVX compact SUV in India next year as their first electric car model.
Suzuki’s New Electric Car:
In this case, the company has also registered another electric car model in India. Maruti Suzuki showcased an electric hatchback model called eWX at the Bangkok Motor Show last month. The company has now registered the eWX electric hatchback model in India as well. Suzuki also refers to this eWX model as an EV miniwagon.
eWX Electric Hatchback: Exterior
Although it is a hatchback, the eWX electric car has an SUV style with a boxy design. With a length of 3,395 mm, width of 1,475 mm and height of 1,620 mm, Suzuki has designed this electric hatchback model to seat up to four people. As it is a concept car, Suzuki has played with the design.
eWX Electric Hatchback: Interior
Being a concept car, Suzuki has given the colors funky. As such, the interior of the concept eWX has been given neon colored seats. The exterior also sees neon accents here and there. The company has given more emphasis on space and luxury by keeping the design minimalistic.
eWX Electric Car: When Will It Be Released?
The concept model is expected to take at least two more years to take shape. Accordingly, we can expect its release in 2026 or 2027. The eWX will be positioned to compete with the likes of Tata Tiago EV and MG Comet EV when launched in India.
Suzuki has not released information about the battery used in it and other features. However, the company only mentions that the eWX has a battery capable of going up to 230km on a single charge. The car could be launched in the range of Rs 10 lakh to Rs 12 lakh or even less if it is produced locally.
