MG to launch ZS hybrid model in Europe.. Will Aster hybrid launch in India?

MG ZS SUV:

MG has given a hybrid avatar in the 2025 update to the ZS model, which has been running only with a petrol engine so far. It also has a Strong Hybrid avatar that can run as a fully electric car. MG has been testing this model in Europe for the past few months and now the teaser photos have been released. Soon this updated car will be launched in the country.

MG ZS: Powertrain

MG has given this car a self-charging hybrid powertrain. Also, a 1.83kWh lithium-ion battery is provided. It can be driven as a fully electric car for a certain distance. But the information about how much will be revealed at the time of release.

MG has given this front wheel drive car a 3 speed automatic gearbox. Also, two engines are offered, 1.0 liter and 1.5 liter. The smaller engine is capable of producing 110hp of power and 160Nm of torque, while the bigger engine produces 105hp of power and 141Nm of torque.

MG ZS Update: Design changes

MG is going to give the new updated ZS SUV the same design language as its other models MG3 and MG HS. The front LED headlamps, grille, and the entire design are going to be redesigned. Likewise, the front and rear bumpers will be redesigned. Also, it gets new alloy wheels and new tail lights.

MG ZS Update: New Features

MG says that the interior uses high-quality materials. On the dashboard, the infotainment system and instrument panel will feature a dual-screen setup. It also gets power adjustable front seats, 360-degree camera, wireless charging, keyless entry and new ADAS features.

Updated MG ZS: Price and Launch

Currently, the ZS SUV with the petrol engine is priced at Rs 16.61 lakh in India. The new hybrid model is expected to be launched at an Indian price of Rs 23.20 lakh.

MG will launch this car in Europe in September. After that, the company is expected to launch this ZS hybrid model as Aster Hybrid in India in 2025.

In India, the updated Aster Hybrid is expected to compete with midsize SUVs like the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Toyota Hirider, Skoda Qashqai and Volkswagen Tycoon.
