My only competition is myself

After winning the National Award for acting, Keerthy Suresh, who has been acting as a female lead in commercial films, is also acting in female-centric stories. He is playing the lead role in the film ‘Raghu Datta’, which has a plot against Hindi imposition. A full-length political comedy film, it is written and directed by Suman Kumar, screenwriter of the popular Hindi web series ‘The Family Man’. An excerpt from an interview given by Keerthy Suresh, who was in Chennai for the film’s promotions:

How do you feel about 10 years of screen travel? – I wonder if it’s been ten years. At the same time, I think the responsibility has increased. It is a good ‘balancing’ to do commercial films – ‘off beat’ films. From ‘Kanni Vedi’, ‘Revolver Rita’, which are in production, the characters came automatically after ‘Mahanadi’. I have come to the conclusion that I will look for good characters from now on. For that, I started looking for the ‘zone’ that no one has touched yet.

Is Nayanthara your competition in the film industry? – My only competition is me. She thinks that one of my films should go beyond another.
