Ducati launched the updated Hypermotard 950 RVE in India just a few months ago. Currently, the company has launched the most advanced version of the same lineup, the Hypermotard 950 SP model in India. Along with this, the hypermotorized Mono 698 bike is already on sale in India.
950 RVE vs 950 SP: What’s the difference?
The Ducati Hypermotard 950 RVE and SP models remain unchanged in terms of engine, design and amenities. Instead, there is a change in the suspension setup, weight and tires themselves. Ducati has slightly improved the above features in the SP model over the RVE model.
Hypermotard 950 SP with advanced features:
Instead of the Marzocchi/Sachs suspension setup found on the RVE model, the SP model gets a more premium Ohlins suspension setup front and rear.
Not only is it a premium setup, but the previous 45mm is replaced by a larger USD fork at 48mm. Its wheel travel has also been increased from 170 mm to 185 mm. Similarly, the wheel travel of the rear monoshock has also been increased from 150mm to 175mm.
Less weight:
The SP model gets slightly lighter Marchesini wheels. Thus, the Hypermotard 950 SP weighs 191 kg, 2 kg less than the RVE model. Seat height is also 20 mm higher than the RVE, at 890 mm on the SP model.
The Pirelli Rosso 3s tires used on the RVE model are replaced by Pirelli Supercorza SP tires on the SP model.
Ducati Hypermotard 950 SP Engine:
There is no change as far as the engine is concerned. The 950 SP is powered by the same 937cc L-twin engine used in the hypermotard 950 RVE, which produces 114hp of power and 96Nm of torque. Braking and chassis are also unchanged.
Despite being the same engine, the SP model has been tuned to deliver more aggressive performance.
Price:
Although the 950 SP model has some advanced features as mentioned above, outwardly both the bikes remain the same. The only difference between the two bikes is the petrol tank and the graphics on the wheels.
With these advanced features, the Ducati Hypermotard 950 SP has been launched at a price of Rs 19.05 lakh, Rs 3 lakh more than the Hypermotard 950 RVE model.
