PMK leader Anbumani Ramadoss has strongly criticized the DMK government for not being able to control adulteration.
In this regard, he said in a statement issued today:
“An old man named Jayaraman died after drinking the liquor sold at D. Kumaramangalam near Thiruvenneynallur in Villupuram district. Two others have been admitted to the Mundyambakkam Government Medical College Hospital for treatment.
On the 19th of last month, 65 people died after drinking toxic liquor mixed with methane in Karunapuram, Kallakurichi town. Just 10 days after the tragedy, on June 29, a person died after drinking the liquor sold at D. Kumaramangalam, adding to the agony.
This shows that the Tamil Nadu government has not taken any steps to control counterfeit liquor.
Tamil Nadu government and police said that following the Kallakurichi smuggling deaths, intensive raids were conducted across Tamil Nadu to control the smuggling business.
But the extent to which adulterated liquor is rampant in Tamil Nadu can be understood from the fact that adulterated alcohol is being sold very close to Kallakurichi.
T. Kumaramangalam’s Kallacharaya death shows that the Tamil Nadu government and the police are in the mindset that no matter how many people die from drinking illegal liquor in Tamil Nadu, they will not control the sale of illegal liquor.
The sale of bootleg liquor in D. Kumaramangalam is proof of the ruling party’s support for the bootlegging business.
Since the death of an old man after drinking liquor in Villupuram district will cause a lot of turmoil in Tamil Nadu, efforts are being made to cover it up.
The police have given false information that the elderly Jayaraman died due to the consumption of liquor bought by Murugan from Puduvai.
The son-in-law of the deceased Jayaraman has denied this and alleged that bootleg liquor is being sold freely in their area.
This should be investigated. The DMK government, which cannot control bootleg liquor, should step down.
The DMK government could not control the sale of bootleg liquor in Tamil Nadu; We are insisting on a CBI investigation into the Kallakurichi smuggling deaths because the Tamil Nadu Police will not reveal the truth when the ruling party is said to have the support of the smugglers.
Therefore, the CBI on counterfeiting deaths. The Tamil Nadu government should order an investigation”. Anbumani Ramadoss said in it.
