Self-igniting vehicles: Tamil Nadu government warns owners

Tamil Nadu Government: The Tamil Nadu Transport and Road Safety Commission has issued a warning to the vehicle owners that in recent times there have been incidents of motor vehicles spontaneously combusting.

In this regard, in a press release issued by the Transport Commissioner of the Transport and Road Safety Commission, “Recently, fire accidents involving motor vehicles have been detected. Unauthorized (CNG or LPG) (CNG / LPG) conversions in motor vehicles while investigating such incidents. Modifications made by unauthorized or unqualified companies lead to vehicle fire accidents.

Therefore, alteration of vehicles without proper permission from the Regional Transport Office is an offense under the Motor Vehicles Act and Rules. Therefore, vehicle owners are advised not to engage in this type of practice,” it said.
