Agni Nakshatra:
The Chennai Municipal Corporation is planning to set up green banners at 10 important signals for the benefit of motorists.
The heat has been burning in Tamil Nadu since last March. It is worth noting that the Chennai Meteorological Department has warned that temperatures will be unimaginable for the next 25 days due to the onset of Kathri Veil known as Agni Nakshatra the day before yesterday.
Motorists waiting at signals:
Due to this heat, people are unable to leave their homes during the day.
Due to unavoidable reasons, people who come out during the day are trying to reduce the body heat caused by the sun by sipping buttermilk, kampungu, watermelon nungu etc.
Moreover, water and buttermilk pandals have been set up at important places in various districts of Tamil Nadu to quench the thirst of the people.
Green Lanterns:
It is also worth noting that green pavilions have been set up at places including Puducherry, Coimbatore for the convenience of motorists waiting at signals in the sun during the day.
Now Chennai has also joined that line. Accordingly, the Corporation is planning to set up green lanterns on the existing signals on the Chennai city roads.
Super facility in Chennai Signals:
In the first phase, the corporation has decided to set up this green pavilion with a length of six meters and a height of 5.5 meters in ten important areas including Annanagar, Adyar, Vepperi, Rayapetta.
The move has been welcomed by the public and motorists.
