In the current academic year, the Tamil Nadu government has decided to hand over 851 MPBS and 38 BDS seats to the central government.
The state government will allocate 15% seats in 36 medical colleges in Tamil Nadu for All India quota. Accordingly, this year, the government will hand over 851 MBPS seats and 38 BDS seats to the Central Board of Counseling, Directorate of Medical Services.
Four rounds of admission for seats under government quota in KK Nagar ESIC Medical College affiliated to Tamil Nadu Dr. MGR Medical University, Government Medical Colleges and Self Finance Colleges, Medical University and seats allotted to three private universities. Following this, the fee has been fixed at Rs 18,073 in state government colleges. Similarly Rs 16,073 for dental colleges and Rs 1 lakh for ESIC colleges. Government seats in self-financed colleges are defined as Rs 4.35 lakh to Rs 4.50 lakh. Similarly, government private universities have been allowed to charge Rs 5.40 lakh per annum and self-financed dental colleges Rs 2.50 lakh per annum.
The Fee Fixation Committee has announced the fee structure for management seats, NRI seats, lapsed existing NRI seats and minority seats in self-financed medical colleges. Accordingly, the tuition fee is Rs 13.50 lakh for management reservation seat, Rs 24.50 lakh for NRI seats and Rs 21.50 lakh for NRI expired seats. The tuition fee in Christian Medical College is fixed at Rs.53,000.
Similarly, three government private universities have been allowed to charge Rs 16.20 lakh for management quota seats, Rs 29.40 lakh for NIR seats and ₹25.80 lakh for expired NRI seats.
