The Tamil Nadu government is giving an award in the name of Thakaisal Tamil to honor the leaders who have contributed a lot to the development of Tamil Nadu and the Tamil nation. During the Independence Day celebrations, the Chief Minister will give Rs. A check for 10 lakhs and a certificate of appreciation will be given.
The Thalaisal Tamil Award for 2021 was given to Marxist senior leader Sangaria, the award for 2022 was given to senior leader of Communist Party of India Nallakannu, and the award for 2023 was given to Dravidar Kazhagam president K. Veeramani. Accordingly, the award for the year 2024 will be given to senior Congress leader Kumari Ananthan.
In a press release released by Chief Minister M.K.Stalin in this regard, “Chief Minister M.K. has created a Thakaisal Tamil Award to honor those who have contributed to the development of Tamil Nadu and the Tamil community and to set up a committee to select the awardee. Stalin ordered last year 2021. This award has been given to Sankaraiah, R. Nallakannu and K. Veeramani in the last 3 years,” it said.
Continuing, “The advisory meeting of the committee set up to select the current year’s awardee was held under the chairmanship of Chief Minister M.K.Stalin today. It has been decided to give this year’s Thakaisal Tamil Award to Kumari Ananthan, who was involved in public life at a young age, was MLA and MP, and is a literary treasure, a literary treasure, a literary sea, and a cultured person who has no enmity with anyone. Kumari Ananthan, who was selected for the Thakaisal Tamil Award, was presented with a check of ten lakh rupees and a certificate of appreciation by Chief Minister M.K. He also announced that it will be given by Stalin.
Due to advanced age, Kumari Ananthan has been resting at home without attending public events. His daughter Tamilisai Soundararajan is one of the senior leaders of BJP.
