Among them, Amjat Khan (23) from Settipalayam, Coimbatore, Anand Kumar (25) from Neelampur area, Ajith (22) from Kulathur next to Sulur, and Salem Adyarpatti. After this, during the investigation conducted by the police, who arrested all the four, Amjat Khan was working as a truck driver in a private company in Chinniyampalayam and became familiar with Sivakumar, Jeeva, Praveen, Anand, Ajith and Chitheswaran from Irukoor.

When Amjat Khan used to buy ganja packets while traveling abroad and sold the remaining ganja to his friends, a few months ago when Amjat Khan bought a container truck in the name of Amjat Khan’s father and went to other states, his friend Sivakumar asked him to give the cell phone number of a person from Ichabaram area on the border of Andhra state to buy ganja. He said.

After this, based on the information given by Sivakumar on Instagram, Amjat Khan bought the packets of ganja by contacting that number while going to Andhra Pradesh and paying the money through phone. In return, Sivakumar paid diesel and toll booth money, and Sivakumar sent his friends to get ganja.

Last month, when Amjat Khan was going to Patna with a packet of biscuits, Sivakumar contacted Amjat Khan through Instagram and sent him 52 thousand 800 rupees via phone.

After this, two persons came near the Ichapuram RTO check post in a two-wheeler and left with packets of ganja, Amjat Khan took the ganja along with Ajith and Anand and concealed it in a truck loaded with groceries.

After stopping the truck in Neelampur area and contacting Sivakumar on Instagram, Sivakumar sent Praveenraj, Gautham and Jeeva in a two-wheeler. When the trio arrived on a two-wheeler and received packets of ganja, the Prohibition Enforcement Unit surrounded them and arrested them.

Following this, the police have arrested six people involved in the case, seized a lorry loaded with groceries, 11.7 kg of ganja, two two-wheelers and 6 cell phones. The police who arrested 6 others were produced in the court and lodged in Coimbatore Central Jail.

Meanwhile, the police are looking for Sivakumar and a person from Odisha who smuggled and sold cannabis by sharing information through Instagram.
