As the impact of heat is increasing day by day in Tamil Nadu, Tamil Nadu government is taking various measures to counter it. A few days ago, Chief Minister M.K.Stalin held a consultation with the officials regarding the heat wave. After this various instructions were given to the public and officials.
In this situation, Chief Minister Stalin has held an important consultation with the officials regarding the problem of drinking water during summer. Then he ordered allocation of Rs.150 crore from the State Disaster Relief Fund for drinking water works. The Chief Minister also said that 150 crores has been allocated for uninterrupted supply of drinking water during summer.
Drought-affected districts should be supplied with drinking water by trucks. Districts with shortage of drinking water should share the funds and undertake the work of water distribution. There should be no shortage of drinking water supply as the rules of election conduct are in force.
In rural areas, dry wells should be replaced by alternative water sources. Combined drinking water schemes, irrigation stations should provide consistent power supply for uninterrupted operation. He advised that all the departments should work together as the demand for water is high during summer.
Last year, when there were floods in districts including Chennai, there was not enough rain in the western districts. Due to this, it is said that there is a shortage of drinking water in the western districts. There is a situation that needs to be overcome by using the available water in the dams sparingly. The Chief Minister has instructed the officials that all departmental officials should act carefully and visit the drinking water problem areas in person to solve the problem.
