Transportation
In Salem district, there is only transport including train transport and bus transport. In this situation, following the reception of metro train in Chennai, it was planned by the Metro Rail Company to bring metro transport in other districts besides Chennai.
Metro Station Works
Accordingly, it was informed that metro station works will be set up in Coimbatore and Madurai. Following this, it seems that the first phase of work will start soon in those districts. In this situation, metro company announced that metro works will come in Trichy, Salem and Tirunelveli districts except for two districts.
People are happy
Accordingly, Feasibility Reports were submitted to the Govt. The people of Salem district were happy with this.
2 routes
It has been informed that the metro train will be operated for a total distance of 35.19 kilometers on two routes in Salem district. That is, one route from Karuppur to Nazhikalpatti and the second route from Ayodhyapatnam railway station to Utthamacholapuram Karapuranathar Temple was announced.
19 metro stations
It has been informed that a total length of 17.16 km metro route will be constructed from Karapuranathar temple to Ayodhyapatnam railway station via Ammapet. A total of 19 metro stations are expected to come up in this. Similarly, a 18.3 km metro line will be constructed from Karuppur to Nallikalapatti via Salem Railway Station.
Detailed project report
It is reported that 19 railway stations will come in this. A detailed report was submitted to the Tamil Nadu government on 31st August. After this, no work was carried out.
Lack of funds
Due to lack of funds, it is said that they are going to get a loan from the world banks, now it seems that the Asian Bank has decided to give a loan. Accordingly, it is expected that bank officials will conduct an inspection tomorrow in Coimbatore and Madurai and the metro works will be started.
Metro in Salem district
As a result of this, all the people have been demanding that metro works should be started in Trichy and Salem district as well. In this situation, in the statement issued by the Metro Rail Company, it has been informed that instead of a full metro, a light metro (Metro Light) is planned to come to Salem.
