The Food Safety Department of Tamil Nadu has issued a warning that there is a risk of loss of eyesight and speech in children due to consumption of dry ice and there may be casualties.
A circular has been issued explaining the effects of smoke biscuits in Chennai after inspecting them.
Namely, when a video of a boy who ate smoke biscuits and screamed because he couldn’t bear the smoke went viral on social media, Satish Kumar, appointed officer of the Food Safety Department, inspected places where smoke biscuits are prepared in Chennai.
Speaking in this regard after the study, he said that children should not be given any food containing nitrogen. It has been ordered not to sell food mixed with nitrogen ice in restaurants.
A warning has been issued that if dry ice is used for food in violation of the order, 10 years imprisonment and a fine of Rs.10 lakh will be imposed.
