Tamil Nadu government has started the Tamil Putulavan scheme which provides 1000 per month assistance to college students.
Educational institutions have been advised to take steps to ensure that eligible students studying in colleges have Aadhaar numbers.
Educational institutions should publicize this information so that all students know it and inform students that they should go to the nearest Aadhaar centers to get Aadhaar number.
Also, if there is no Aadhaar center in that area, the concerned educational institutes should set up an Aadhaar center and take appropriate action.
It is to be noted that the Chief Minister had already announced that the Tamil Puthulvan Scheme, which will provide Rs 1,000 per month educational assistance to government school students pursuing higher education, will come into force till August.
