Meanwhile, student bodies have demanded that Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s government should take responsibility for the loss of life during the protest and resign immediately. It has been reported that 52 people have been killed in the capital Dhaka only yesterday.
Protesting students broke into a prison in Narsingdi district of Bangladesh and set prisoners on fire, police officials said. Officials also said that more than 100 prisoners escaped. The students’ protest has been a major challenge for the regime of Sheikh Hasinawan, who has been the Prime Minister for the past 15 years
