A fishing boat suspected of smuggling drugs has been arrested in a deep-sea surveillance operation carried out by the Navy in the South Sea of Sri Lanka.
Yesterday (14) a fishing boat suspected of smuggling drugs was arrested in a surveillance operation carried out by the navy in the deep sea area about 400 nautical miles (740 km) south of Sri Lanka.
The Sri Lankan Navy has informed that steps have been taken to bring the said boat to Galle port.
About 150 kilograms of heroin is suspected to be found in the said multi-day fishing boat.
The Sri Lankan Navy has conducted a thorough search of the boat and further investigations are underway.
