NIA Test: On February 5, 2019, Ramalingam, a Bamaka personality, was murdered by a mob in Thanjavur. Ramalingam, who hails from Tanjore’s Thiruphuvanam, was active against religious conversion, and the killing took place in the name of it, the police investigation said.
Also, 18 people were accused in this case and 13 of them were arrested. 5 people are wanted criminals till now. The National Investigation Agency (NIA) took over the case, alleging that a banned organization was behind the murder.
In the NIA investigation, so far raids are being conducted at various places like Thanjavur, Trichy and Kumbakonam. It had been announced that a reward would be given for information about Mohammed Ali Jinnah from Thirubhuvanam, Abdul Majid from Kumbakonam, Burganuddin from North Mangudi, Shahul Hameed from Tiruvidaimarudur and Nafeel Hasan from Thirumangalakkudi, who are already absconding.
Posters containing their photos and addresses were pasted in Trichy, Thanjavur and Kumbakonam areas and it was announced that a reward of Rs 5 lakh each would be given to five people for information about them.
While the 5 wanted criminals are yet to be found, the NIA is again conducting searches at 10 places in Thanjavur, Trichy and Kumbakonam.
