The Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission (TNPSC) conducts examinations for the vacant posts in various departments of the Tamil Nadu Government and fills the vacancies. Accordingly, Group 4 examination was held across the state yesterday to fill 6,244 vacant posts in various posts including Village Administrative Officer, Forest Conservator, Junior Assistant, Typist. It is reported that a total of 15,88,684 candidates appeared for the exam in 7,247 centres.
15 lakh candidates have competed for 6,244 posts. Earlier, 20 lakh 36,774 candidates had applied for the exam. Out of which 15.88 lakh people participated in the examination. 4.48 lakh people did not appear for the exam. One lakh people appeared in the Group 4 examination held at 432 centers in Chennai.
There are maximum 1,653 vacancies for Typist in Group 4 job. Following this the examination has been held for 526 posts of Superintendent of Forests (Tamil Nadu Forest Sub-Service), 441 Steno-Typist (Tamil Nadu Minister) Vacancies / Justice Minister Service)
