An explosion at a firecracker factory in Chengamalapatti near Sivakasi has left 8 people dead. Chief Minister Stalin condoled the victims of the blast.
Crackers factories are coming up at Chengamalapatti near Sivakasi, Virudhunagar district. In this case, 8 people, including 5 women, died tragically today (May 9) in an unexpected explosion in a firecracker factory there. 10 people who were involved in the blast accident were rescued with serious injuries and have been admitted to the hospital.
Today when the workers were working as usual in the firecracker factory owned by Sudarsan, there was a terrible explosion. In which the buildings collapsed, 7 rooms collapsed to the ground level. Firefighters and police are involved in rescue operations at the scene of the explosion.
In this situation, Chief Minister Stalin expressed his condolences to the families of the 8 people who died in the firecracker explosion.
In this regard, the press release issued by Chief Minister Stalin said; “I am deeply saddened to hear the tragic news of the death of 8 workers including 5 women and 3 men in an unexpected explosion today (9.5.2024) in a privately owned firecracker factory operating in Keezathirutangal village, Sivakasi circle, Virudhunagar district.
After receiving the information about the accident, I immediately contacted the District Collector and instructed him to carry out rescue operations quickly and also ordered to ensure that all the necessary life-saving treatments are provided to the more than 10 injured persons.
I offer my deepest condolences and condolences to the bereaved families and their relatives. The necessary government relief assistance will be given to the victims after the approval of the Election Commission.” This is stated in the press release.
