The incident of a 9-year-old girl being sexually assaulted by a youth in Trichy has caused great shock.
A class 5 student from Trichy left home yesterday at 7 pm. As the girl did not come home for a long time, her grandmother searched for her in various places and called her.
In this case, an old man from the same area saw the injured girl standing in the neighboring area. He immediately questioned the girl. A 25-year-old youth took the girl to various places in a bus and later sexually assaulted her in a deserted area.
Shocked by what the girl said, the old man handed her over to her grandmother. When the police were informed, they admitted the girl to the Trichy Government Hospital for treatment. The girl is receiving intensive treatment there.
Police Commissioner Kamini, who was involved in the incident and ordered the immediate arrest of the absconding person, formed a special force for the same. The special forces police conducted an investigation with the help of various CCTV footages in the area.
On investigation, it was revealed that the person was Chinnaraja (25) from Tirumala, Uyyakonda, Trichy.
Later, when the police traced the man’s cell phone signal, it was revealed that he was hiding in Chidambaram.
Based on that, the Trichy Special Forces have arrested an absconding youth named Chinna Raja in Chidambaram yesterday.
Then when he tried to escape from the police, he fell unexpectedly and fractured his leg. He was immediately admitted to Trichy Government Hospital for treatment. The police have registered a POCSO case against Chinna Raja and are investigating.
