Skoda Octavia
Skoda’s mid-premium sedan Octavia is one of the oldest sedans sold in India. This car was first introduced in 2001. The engine has been discontinued as it has not been modified to meet the new BS6 Phase 2 norms.
But next year the car is expected to be imported and sold in CKD mode.
Honda Jazz
The famous Japanese car company Honda has recently discontinued its Jazz hatchback. First introduced in the premium hatchback segment in 2009, the car was available in two petrol and diesel variants.
Honda has also launched the WRV sub 4 meter SUV along with this car. It had better space and driving ability. Honda is not interested in developing its BS6 Phase 2 engine.
Maruti Suzuki Alto 800
Maruti Suzuki’s long-standing car, the Alto 800, will be discontinued this year. The last 800cc engined car has already been discontinued. Maruti Suzuki also has no intention of changing it to BS6 Phase 2 engine norms. It was an affordable yet highly functional car.
Kia Carnival
Kia’s flagship MPV Carnival has been discontinued in India by 2023. The car was suddenly discontinued due to new engine regulations. Its new generation car is expected to be sold in India under CBU model.
Mahindra Alturas G4
Mahindra’s flagship SUV Alturas G4 starts at Rs 30 lakh. This car is the Mahindra variant of the Ssang Yong Rexton. It competes directly with the Toyota Fortuner. Due to this, its sales have become sluggish and it has now been discontinued.
Its last generation car was sold with 2WD facility. It was powered by Mercedes-Benz’s 2.2 liter diesel engine, producing 178 BHP of power and 420 NM of torque, mated to a 7-speed automatic transmission.
Honda WRV
The WRV was launched in 2017 for the first time in the sub 4 meter crossover SUV segment. It was launched with Sunroof at a budget price of Rs 9 lakh to Rs 12 lakh.
But due to stiff competition from Maruti Suzuki and Hyundai, the sales slumped and it has now stopped. It was discontinued last April 2023. Instead, the Honda Elevate SUV has been introduced.
Skoda Superb
The premium sedan Superb has been discontinued in India this year. This too was discontinued as it was not updated to the new engine rules. But the 2024 new generation Skoda Superb will definitely be sold in CKD or CBU mode in India.
Volvo XC40
Volvo aims to become an all-electric car company by the end of 2030. Instead, the XC 40 Recharge SUV was launched in India. The company will sell only fully electric or hybrid cars in the next few years.
