Govt new offer for PSF soldiers

It has been said that Central Armed Police Force personnel will be given benefits such as posting, at-will posting and air ticket booking while on leave. These are some of the major decisions taken by PSF in an effort to improve the level of employee satisfaction.

According to data provided by the Ministry of Home Affairs, over 46,000 personnel in the six Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs) have taken early retirement in the last five years (2019-2023). “The maximum – more than 21,000 men and women – who took early retirement – belong to the Border Security Force (BSF), which guards the Pakistan and Bangladesh borders,” an official said.

An order issued by the IG (Labor) last month said: “DG (BSF) has approved guidelines/instructions to be followed regarding transfer/transfer of non-gazetted officers and redressal of grievances with a view to improving the satisfaction of promoted officers. On the recommendations of the Board.

At the time of annual return of personnel and training (P&T), five selections for posting are received from the individual. Fixed posts of any particular location will be considered as the only selection. Similarly, all headquarters, 25 and 95 battalions of BSF in Delhi will be considered for single selection,” the order said.

“Posting at the individual’s request at his desired location will count. Posting an individual’s request in a surrounding space does not count as ‘own request posting’. However, if a person completes his tenure at a particular place and requests to be posted elsewhere, his appointment will not be treated as an own request, even if it is considered based on his choice. Further, requests for posting on terminal grounds to any particular location shall not be treated as ‘own request posting’,” the letter said.

“For prompt disposal of all grievances including DG’s interview cases at Frontier Headquarters (FHQ); Heads of concerned Division, Headquarters and Training Centers shall send all grievances and DG’s interview cases directly to FHQ through software along with their specific recommendation and relevant documents,” the letter added.

Last month, the BSF signed an MoU with a Delhi-based travel agency – to book flight tickets for personnel going on leave. According to a press release, this facility is available to employees and their dependents – offering one year’s offer of fixed fare air ticket, free seat selection, free rescheduling.
