Chennai : After losing to the Rajasthan team in yesterday’s eliminator match, the captain of the Bengaluru team, Tuplessi explained the reason why they lost because of this.
Rajasthan Royals and Bengaluru Royal Challengers clashed in the eliminator match of the IPL series yesterday. In this match Rajasthan team won the toss and chose to bowl first. Bangalore’s opener Virat Kohli and Duplessis failed to get off to a good start.
Following them, no player was getting out and leaving. It was the occasional boundaries from the Bengaluru players that brought the team a much-needed score. In the end, they lost 8 wickets and scored 172 runs in 20 overs. Bangalore’s Pattidar scored 34 runs and Virat Kohli scored 33 runs. Avesh Khan took 3 wickets for Rajasthan team.
After that, the Rajasthan team started well and were on the verge of closing the match in the middle. Then Real Barak and Shimran Hedmire stood their ground and showed action where needed. Rovman Powell ended the match in his own style as the Rajasthan team came close to victory and scored 174 runs in 19 overs to win by 4 wickets.
Due to this, the Rajasthan team will face the Hyderabad team in the Qualifier-2 match which will be held the day after tomorrow. Duplessi, the captain of the Bengaluru team, spoke after the match was over. He said, “In today’s match we were a little short of runs and there was snow in the 2nd innings. Kudos to our team’s bowlers for fighting. 180 runs is a good score as far as this ground is concerned.
Also, many changes have been made to the impact player rule this season. With 1 win from 9 matches, other teams may have slumped. But we won 6 in a row. The young players of our team put up an excellent performance. Winning 6 in a row is not easy. We feel that if we score 15-20 more runs in this match, it would have been good”, captain Duplessi said after the match.
