Citroen car manufacturing company operating in India under Stellandis has announced former Indian cricketer Mahendra Singh Dhoni as the brand ambassador of their company. Last month it was reported that the company had signed an agreement to make Dhoni the brand ambassador, now the official announcement has been made.
Also, a few days ago, Mahendra Singh Dhoni had posted a post on his Facebook page mentioning that he is going to start a new team. While there is a question among the fans whether Dhoni will play for CSK next season or not, Dhoni posted such a post and created confusion among many people. However, he had also tagged Citron in that post. Also, the post mentioned paid partnership.
Following that post, an official announcement has been made that Dhoni has now been appointed as the brand ambassador of Citron. It is not new that Indian celebrities are announced as brand ambassadors of multinational car manufacturers. Sachin Tendulkar for BMW, Boli for Audi, Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone for Hyundai are the brand ambassadors.
French car manufacturer Citroen entered the Indian automobile market in 2021. Currently, the company is selling four models here namely C3, C3 Aircross, C3 Electric and C5 Aircross. Citron is also testing a new hatchback model called Basalt for launch in India. The SUV coupe model Basalt is likely to be launched in India later this year. Notably, the same engine used in Citroen’s other C series models will also be used in the new Basalt coupe SUV model.
