He had formed an alliance with the People’s Justice Center for the 2021 assembly elections. However, he met with failure. Sarathkumar, who formed an alliance with the BJP in the recent Lok Sabha elections, announced the merger of the Samatwa People’s Party with the BJP the very next day.
Following this, Radhika Sarathkumar, Sarathkumar’s wife, was fielded on behalf of the BJP in the Virudhunagar constituency in the Lok Sabha elections. He lost by getting 1,66,271 votes when the election results were announced on June 4.
