Railway service is the backbone of our country’s public transport service. Thousands of passengers are benefited daily by hundreds of trains run on behalf of respective railway divisions across the country.
Train service is preferred for long distance travel due to reasons including very low fares, travel convenience and time, safe travel.
In this situation, extra special trains are usually run on special days, weekends and festivals for the convenience of passengers. These trains are canceled in whole or in part on certain routes from time to time due to railway maintenance works.
In that way, 28 special trains running to other states through Tamil Nadu are to be cancelled.
28 special trains cancelled:
From June 15, 28 special trains from cities including Chennai, Coimbatore, Bangalore and other states have been canceled on both routes.
A press release issued by the Southern Railway on Tuesday said, “28 special trains going to foreign states have been canceled due to maintenance work being carried out in the area under the Southern Railway.
Details of canceled trains:
The Chennai Egmore-Visagapatnam summer special train will be canceled from June 15 and the Chandrakasi weekly special train will be canceled from June 18.
Also Tambaram to Dhanbad weekly special will be canceled from June 16, Barelani weekly special from June 20 and Chandrakachi weekly special from June 19.
Similarly, the weekly express train from Coimbatore to Barelani will be canceled from June 18.
Also, special trains from Bengaluru to Jolarpet via Gadbadi to Visakhapatnam, Kharagpur, Malta, Guwahati etc. will be canceled from June 16. These trains will be completely canceled until further notice,” it said.
