Sri Lanka has made progress in the 2024 DOING GOOD INDEX ranking indicator, which measures the performance of the Asian social service sector in 2024.
Sri Lanka has joined the DOING OKAY group along with Cambodia, India, Indonesia, Nepal, Pakistan, Thailand and Vietnam.
According to the 2022 Sutten, Sri Lanka was ranked alongside Bangladesh in the NOT DOING ENOUGH category.
Director General of the National Secretariat for Non-Governmental Organizations, Sanjeeva Wimalagunaratne, said that this is the result of many reforms carried out under the guidance of Public Security Minister Tran Alas.
The index, which is measured every two years, will include restructuring for Singapore, China and Taipei to join the DOING WELL group in 2026, the Director General said.
