President Ranil Wickremesinghe visited the Batticaloa Zion Church, which was bombed on Easter Sunday, this morning (22) to inspect the reconstruction work.
The President visited the church and interacted with the main pastor of the church, Roshan Maheson. President Ranil Wickramasinghe asked the authorities to investigate the matter immediately and submit a report on the matter as to why the reconstruction work of the church has not been completed yet.
In addition, the President directed Sagala Ratnayake, Senior Adviser to the President on National Security and Head of the Presidential Task Force, to expedite the completion of the renovation work of the church within the funds allocated by the Office of the President.
The President also instructed the Army Chief to provide the Sri Lanka Army’s support for those operations.
Eastern Province Governor Senthil Thondaman, State Minister S. Vyazendran also joined the President on this occasion.
