According to the Department of Agriculture, the consumption of fruits in the country has increased more than before and in that way, 12.8 million metric tons of fruits have been taken for consumption in the last year.
The department said that the export of fruits has increased significantly in the last year and only 38,201 metric tons of fruits have been exported in the last year. The department also informed that steps have been taken to increase the production of fruits as consumption and export of fruits is increasing.
In that way, by the year 2027, it has been planned to increase the production of banana, mango, pineapple, papaya and cordyhodai fruits, the department has also said.
