A debate on the resolution of thanks to the President’s speech was held in the Lok Sabha today. Opposition leader Rahul Gandhi, who participated in it, criticized that it is said in Hindu dharma that one should stand on the side of truth and that those who call themselves Hindus only talk about violence and hatred.
Hinduism is not a religion that constantly spreads fear, hatred and lies. True Hindus do not incite hatred but BJP members who claim to be Hindus call for violence, incite hatred and tell lies 24 hours a day,” he said.
Then PM Modi interrupted, This is very bad thing. Addressing Rahul Gandhi, it is very wrong to say that all Hindus are violent. Responding to that, Rahul Gandhi said, “Modi, BJP and RSS are not the only Hindu community.”
Amidst the strong opposition among the BJP members, BJP MPs including Amit Shah insisted that Rahul Gandhi should apologize for insulting Hindus. As a result, there was shouting and confusion in the assembly.
In this situation, BJP state president Annamalai said on his Twitter page, “As always, the Congress party is coming to show its true colors after the elections. “We saw the scepter issue last week. Now the India alliance has resorted to ways to appease the minorities,” he criticized.
Asking Rahul Gandhi to apologize for calling Hindus violent in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi said, “Majority of people of India are constantly insulted by such derogatory comments. This is an example that no amount of big defeat will suppress the ego of the India alliance,” he said.
