Delhi: The opposition MPs walked out of the Lok Sabha after the demands of the opposition parties to hold a debate on the NEET examination irregularities were accepted.
Various controversies and complaints arose this year in the NEET entrance exam, which is generally conducted all over India for admission to medical courses. Cases were filed from state courts to the Supreme Court regarding these irregularities. Following this, the central government appointed a CBI investigation team to investigate the NEET irregularities.
The opposition parties have been making a continuous demand to hold a debate in the Parliament on the NEET irregularities that have created a huge uproar across the country. However, as the Speaker said that the resolution of thanks to the President’s speech in the Parliament would be allowed after the conclusion, the opposition parties refused to accept it and are engaged in continuous violence.
Finally, on June 28th, the opposition parties moved in both the Houses of Parliament to discuss the NEET malpractice by passing adjournment resolution on the vote of thanks to the President, and both the Houses were adjourned till today (July 1).
After this, Opposition leader Rahul Gandhi released a video that day. In that, lakhs of students and their families have been affected by the NEET malpractice complaint. In the video, he requested Prime Minister Modi to allow the Lok Sabha to have a healthy debate on the matter.
When Parliament reconvened today following a series of protests, Congress Party spokesperson KC Venugopal moved an adjournment resolution. Also, when Rahul Gandhi spoke in the Lok Sabha today, we want to tell the students of the country that it is important to discuss the issue of NEET in the Parliament. Therefore, he said that he should be allowed to discuss this NEET issue in the Parliament.
Similarly, as the motion of thanks on the President’s speech was brought in the Lok Sabha without the adjournment motion of the opposition parties being accepted, the opposition MPs walked out of the Lok Sabha in a riot.
