The land assurance event for the beneficiaries of Kurunegala district will be held on 05th at the audience hall of the North West Provincial Council located in Kurunegala city. Commenting on the discussion, Governor Nazir Ahmed said,
Earlier we had held a discussion regarding expediting the “Urumaya” land assurance process. Based on that, we have taken steps to appoint special trainees in each divisional secretariat to carry out these activities. Because the “Urumaya” program is a program that needs to be implemented on a priority basis.
At present, due to our prompt actions, about one thousand two hundred beneficiaries in Kurunegala district will get their land guarantees under the “Urumaya” land guarantee event. We have taken steps to get land guarantees under this to other beneficiaries in the district. These “Urumaya” land guarantees are being given as a part of the President’s economic recovery measures.
Any such program would not have been possible in the state of the country two years ago. However, it has been made possible through the far-sighted action plan of the President, he said.
