Heavy rain is likely to occur in 2 districts of Tamil Nadu today, according to the Chennai Meteorological Department.
In this regard, in a statement issued by the Chennai Meteorological Department, a low pressure area is prevailing in the North Bengal Sea adjacent to West Bengal today (26.07.2024) around 08:30 hrs. It is likely to move west-northwestward towards West Bengal and Jharkhand for the next two days. 26.07.2024 and 27.07.2024: Light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning may occur at a couple of places in Tamil Nadu, Puduwai and Karaikal due to variation in speed of westerly winds. Also strong surface winds may blow at 30-40 kmph.
Heavy rain is expected at a couple of places in hilly areas of Nilgiris and Coimbatore districts.
28.07.2024 to 30.07.2024: Light to moderate rain may occur at a couple of places in Tamil Nadu, Puduvai and Karaikal.
