A person died when a car hit a tipper truck parked on the roadside near Kandamangalam in Villupuram district. Three others were seriously injured and admitted to the hospital.
Abdul Rahman (32), son of Shakul Hameed, son of Pandian, Sai (32), son of Subramani, Premkumar (32), son of Arumugam, Thirunavukkarasu (32) from Kandasamypuram area, Ulundurpet, Kallakurichi district. These 4 friends went from Villupuram to Puducherry by car on Wednesday. Thirunavukarasu drove the car.
While approaching Kandamangalam on the Villupuram-Puducherry road, the driver lost control of the car and rammed into the back of a tipper truck parked on the side of the road. All 4 people who were traveling in the car were injured in the wreckage of the car.
The informed Kandamangalam police went to the scene and rescued the 4 injured persons and sent them to Villupuram District Government Medical College Hospital through 108 emergency service. Abdul Rahman died on the way to the hospital.
Sai, Premkumar and Thirunavukarasu were admitted to the hospital for treatment. The Kandamangalam police have registered a case and are investigating the accident.
